WHAT IS A DENTAL FILLING?

A filling is a way to restore a tooth damaged by decay back it’s normal function and shape. When Dr. Lauvetz-Enmeier gives you a filling, she first removes the decayed tooth materials, cleans the affected area and then fills the cleaned out cavity with a filling material.

By closing off spaces where bacteria can enter, a filling also helps prevent further decay. Materials used for fillings include gold, porcelain, a composite resin (tooth-colored fillings), and an amalgam (an alloy of mercury, silver, copper, tin, and sometimes zinc).

Dr. Lauvetz-Enmeier will discuss your filling material options with you.

“Best dentist experience I have ever had! The staff will treat you like royalty. They offer blankets if you’re cold and if you’re like me and super tense you can even get a hand massage! Dr. Lauvetz Enmeier even calls me personally after procedures to make sure I’m doing okay. Won’t go anywhere else!”
